Surendra Singh Yadav is new Chandigarh DGP
The Union ministry of home affairs (MHA) on Tuesday appointed 1997-batch IPS officer Surendra Singh Yadav as the Chandigarh director general of police (DGP).
Earlier on February 9 this year, 1992-batch IPS officer Madhup Kumar Tiwari was appointed to the post by the MHA, but those orders have been cancelled.
The revised order stated, “In modification of MHA’s order of the same number, dated February 9, Surendra Singh Yadav is hereby transferred from Delhi and posted as DGP, Chandigarh. Additionally, the transfer/posting of Madhup Kumar Tiwari is hereby cancelled with immediate effect and until further orders.”
Yadav will replace Praveer Ranjan who joined Chandigarh as DGP in August 2021.
Ranjan has been posted as additional director general in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). He is yet to be relieved from Chandigarh.

Surendra Kumar Sinha
21st Chief Justice of Bangladesh
Surendra Kumar Sinha (born 1 February 1951), commonly known as SK Sinha is a Bangladeshi lawyer and jurist who served as the 21st Chief Justice of Bangladesh.[1][2] He resigned from the position in November 2017 amid the 16th amendment verdict controversy.[3]
Early life and education
[edit]He was admitted to Chittagong University in the economics department then he obtained his bachelor of laws degree in 1974 under the Faculty of Law, University of Chittagong.[1]
Career
[edit]Sinha enrolled as an advocate of the District Court, Sylhet in 1974 and practiced in that court under the guidance of two civil and criminal lawyers and conducted sessions trial cases independently till the end of 1977.[4] He obtained the permission to practice before the High Court Division and Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh in 1978 and 1990 respectively.[4]
Sinha was elevated as a judge of the High Court Division on 24 October 1999. On 16 July 2009 he was appointed judge of the appellate division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.[5] He assumed the office of the chairman of the Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission in June 2011 and the offi
